At Barclay, we aim to ensure that our pupils have access to a wide variety of outstanding technology from Nursery to KS2. We strongly believe that every pupil deserves the opportunity to work with different types of technology from tablets, laptops and Chromebooks to digital cameras and robots.
Our Information and Communications Technology (ICT) curriculum has changed to a more Computer Science curriculum with guidance from the National Curriculum. At Barclay, we are extremely lucky to have such a vast amount of technology – from Galaxy tablets to Samsung Chromebooks and Samsung interactive TVs – that is accessible to all pupils in the school. We have provided Year 6 with their own 1:1 Chromebooks, which enables the students to extend their learning outside of school and promotes parental engagement.
Computer Science is also widely used in other subject areas to extend and support children’s learning. Children have access to computers on a daily basis, and ICT plays a central role in their learning.
Please see the curriculum for a breakdown of the units taught in each year group.
If you require any further information on ICT/Computer Science, then please contact the school and ask for Katelyn Wood.
